Reverse description The reverse displays a prominent cross patée or Latin cross at centre, flanked on either side by stylised wings or foliate elements in high relief, consistent with the heraldic eagle motif associated with the Duchy of Carinthia. Two symmetrical figures or architectural elements flank the cross, enclosed within a plain inner circle. The outer field bears fragmentary inscriptions and decorative devices. The entire design is executed in the crude but vigorous hammered style typical of 13th-century Austrian regional coinage.
