| Obverse description | A bear depicted in profile facing left, rendered in a stylized Romanesque manner typical of early medieval Swiss coinage. Three pellets are arranged in a triangular group above the animal's back, serving as a heraldic punctuation element. The bear, emblem of the city of Bern, occupies the central field and is enclosed within a beaded or plain inner circle. The planchet bears characteristic irregular edges resulting from the hand-hammered production technique. The design is executed in relief, with the image struck on one side only. |

| Reverse description | Uniface strike; the reverse presents the incuse mirror impression of the obverse design, showing the bear motif in intaglio as a consequence of the single-die hammered striking technique. No additional design elements, legends, or ornamentation are present on this side. The surface retains the natural flow of the silver planchet, with slight relief variations corresponding to the pressure applied during striking. |
