Obverse description Crowned facing bust of Robert d'Anjou, King of Jerusalem and Sicily, rendered in a stylized medieval manner within a beaded inner circle. The royal crown is depicted atop the effigy, with the bust facing left in low relief typical of hammered billon coinage. The surrounding field bears the Latin legend in uncial characters. The overall strike is characteristic of early 14th-century Provençal workshop production, with irregular flan edges.
