Reverse description A short cross pattée occupies the central field, contained within a fine linear inner circle and a thick beaded outer circle. The cross pattée, with its characteristic flared arms, is a standard device employed on Genoese billon coinage of this period. The surrounding legend, in uncial Latin, reads ✠ CONRADVS : REX : S :, invoking the name of Conrad, King, as the nominal imperial authority, with the mint official's sigil placed at the end of the inscription.
