Obverse description Central field bears the crowned arms of Aragon — a plain shield charged with four vertical pales — enclosed within a beaded inner border. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown and flanked on either side by an elaborate laurel-and-oak wreath tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The circular legend reading ISABEL 2ª REYNA CONST. DE LAS ESP. runs around the periphery, with the Barcelona mint mark and engravers' initials B*P.S.* positioned at the base between the wreath ends. The coin is struck with a fine milled border.
