| Obverse description | Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered with vigorous detail; the deity displays flowing curly hair and a full beard, with a wreath of laurel leaves crowning the head. The portraiture is executed in robust high relief, characteristic of Sicilian bronze coinage of the late third century BC. A thyrsus or staff is faintly visible in the left field. The flan is slightly irregular, typical of hammered bronze issues of this period. |
