| Obverse description | Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered with vigorous detail; the deity displays flowing curly hair and a full beard, with a wreath of laurel leaves crowning the head. The portraiture is executed in robust high relief, characteristic of Sicilian bronze coinage of the late third century BC. A thyrsus or staff is faintly visible in the left field. The flan is slightly irregular, typical of hammered bronze issues of this period. |

| Reverse description | Nude warrior advancing to the right in a dynamic striding pose, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet; he thrusts a long spear forward in his right hand while holding a large round shield on his left arm. The figure conveys strong martial energy consistent with the Mamertine mercenary identity. The Greek ethnic legend MAMEPTINΩN is inscribed vertically along the left field, with the value mark Π (denoting the pentonkion denomination) placed in the lower right field. |
