Obverse description Facing head of a lion, depicted full-face with prominent open jaws revealing teeth, rendered in a bold and archaic style characteristic of Rhegine bronzes of the late 5th century BC. The mane is suggested by incised radiating lines framing the face, and the overall composition fills the flan in a commanding, frontal presentation. The field is otherwise plain.
