Reverse description Upright trident, tines pointing upward, centered within a shallow incuse square that forms the principal frame of the design. The shaft of the trident is flanked by the retrograde ethnic inscription TPO, identifying the issuing city of Troezen, with letters disposed in the field to the right of the shaft. Three small pellets or globules are visible at the base of the shaft, a decorative detail common to Troezenian coinage of this period. The incuse technique and linear border reflect standard Archaic-to-Classical Greek reverse treatment.
