| Obverse description | Frontal facing bust of a bishop, identified as either the bishop Rudolph or Saint Lambert, depicted in ecclesiastical vestments and wearing a mitre. The figure holds a crozier in the right hand and a palm frond in the left hand, rendered in the crude but expressive Romanesque hammered style typical of 12th-century Mosan coinage. A partial Latin legend surrounds the effigy in the field. |
