Reverse description A horizontal line divides the field, from which springs a stylised flower flanked by two curved, outward-sweeping stalks, forming the distinctive Flower type design. The moneyer's name is inscribed below the line in two lines. A star appears in the lower field beneath the floral motif. The design is neatly arranged within a beaded border and reflects the artistic conventions of late Anglo-Saxon and Viking-period Northumbrian moneying.
