Reverse description A long cross pattee extends to the legend, with a small rose at the center intersection, a decorative motif characteristic of Burgundian billon coinage of the early sixteenth century. The four arms of the cross divide the reverse field into quadrants, with the encircling Latin legend in uncial script intersecting the cross ends. The abbreviated devotional inscription is a standard formula used on Low Countries deniers of the period. The overall strike is typical of hammered coinage, with some weakness and irregularity at the flan edges.
