| Obverse description | Draped bust of Queen Maria I facing right, her elaborately coiffed hair adorned with a decorative element and secured with a ribbon bow, a teardrop earring visible at the ear. The effigy is rendered in high relief with fine neoclassical workmanship. A raised inner rim separates the portrait from the surrounding Latin legend. The circular legend reads MARIA · DEI · GRATIA · PORT · ET · ALG · REGINA, with the date 1798 flanked by small star ornaments positioned at the base. |
