Obverse description Two crossed papal keys occupying the central field, with a small rose positioned above the point of crossing. The keys are rendered in the characteristic medieval style with elaborately shaped bows. The circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, interrupted by the irregular flan edge typical of hammered coinage of this period.
