Obverse description Central field bears an interlaced CG monogram surmounted by a princely crown, the whole set within an ornate baroque cartouche with scrollwork. A beaded inner border frames the design, while a circular legend in Latin runs along the periphery between dotted borders. The monogram letters are boldly rendered in relief, characteristic of late seventeenth-century Italian hammered coinage. The overall composition is typical of the Gonzaga feudal issues, emphasizing dynastic identity through heraldic devices.
