Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic legend in calligraphic script, reading 'The just sultan Murad Khan son of Selim Khan,' struck on a small, irregularly shaped flan typical of Ottoman hammered silver coinage. The lettering is arranged in horizontal registers across the coin's face, with characteristic angular and cursive forms of the Arabic script. The design is contained within the flan without a formal border, consistent with Ottoman akçe production of the late sixteenth century.
