Obverse description Central field occupied by the elaborate tughra of Sultan Abdülmecid I, rendered in the traditional Ottoman calligraphic style with characteristic looped stems and upward extending shafts. The monogram is enclosed within a simple wreath. The coin is struck on a small billon flan with moderate relief, and the overall composition is typical of early Tanzimat-era Ottoman minor coinage.
