Obverse description A stylized lion depicted in profile facing right, rendered in the crude but vigorous local hammered tradition characteristic of Malwa princely coinage. The animal's body occupies the central field, with broad, roughly executed contours suggesting musculature. The surrounding field is uneven and slightly pellet-bordered, typical of Vagh Raja issues. The design reflects the dynastic emblem of the ruling family of Mehidpur.
