Obverse description Elephant walking to right occupies the central field, depicted in a stylised native artistic manner with trunk curled downward and tail raised. A row of raised pellets forms a decorative border along the upper periphery of the flan. The rendering is bold and in low relief, characteristic of hammered copper coinage of the Mysore sultanate under Tipu Sultan.
