Additional information

August II struck this ort at Leipzig — outside Polish territory entirely — because by 1702 Swedish forces under Charles XII had occupied much of the Commonwealth and disrupted domestic minting. The Leipzig issues are a direct consequence of the Great Northern War forcing the Saxon-Polish administration to relocate coin production to Saxony. Kopicki gives no listing, which reflects genuine catalog uncertainty around this Leipzig series rather than exceptional rarity per se.
