Obverse description Crowned draped bust of King John II Casimir Vasa facing right, wearing a royal crown and armored mantle with lace collar visible at the neck. The effigy is rendered in the Baroque portrait style characteristic of mid-17th-century Polish coinage. The bust is contained within a beaded inner circle. The circumferential Latin legend reads IOAN CAS D G R POL & SVEC M D L R P, abbreviating his full royal titles as King of Poland and Sweden and Grand Duke of Lithuania.
