| Obverse description | The second-type tughra of Sultan Selim III occupies the central field, rendered in the elaborate calligraphic style characteristic of late 18th-century Ottoman coinage, with the characteristic sülüs script forming the imperial monogram. A small floral ornament (gül) is positioned to the right of the tughra in the upper field. The entire design is enclosed within a raised beaded border encircling the coin's periphery. The flat field surrounding the tughra shows the typical granular surface texture of billon coinage of this period. |
