Obverse description Central field dominated by the tughra (imperial monogram) of Ottoman Sultan Mahmud I, rendered in the characteristic calligraphic style with sweeping loops and extended horizontal strokes. The tughra is struck in relief against a flat, unadorned field. The flan exhibits an irregular, scalloped edge typical of hammered coinage of this period. The overall composition follows standard Ottoman tughra placement, centered on the coin face.
