| Obverse description | Male head in left profile, identified as the local river-god Krimisos, rendered in an archaic Sicilian style with boldly engraved flowing hair. The portrait is set within a border of raised dots (dotted circle), which frames the figure and delineates the coin's field. The facial features are strongly modelled with a prominent brow, almond-shaped eye, and defined jawline characteristic of late fifth-century BC Sicilian bronze coinage. The Greek legend EΓEΣTAIOИ (of the Segestans) appears partially around the periphery of the obverse field. |
