Obverse description Full-length figure of Duke Cesare d'Este standing facing in armour in the Hungarian ducat style, holding a sword in his right hand and a globus cruciger or sceptre in his left, within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend reads CEASAR DVX MVT & REG, distributed around the periphery of the coin in a manner typical of northern Italian imitations of the Venetian ducat type.
