Obverse description The obverse displays the monogram logo of the Oklahoma Numismatic Association, composed of the letters O, N, and A rendered as an oil derrick flanked by a Native American tepee, with a small circular medallion at left depicting a bison and trees above the initials WBT. Reverse description The reverse features a detailed bust of Spanish conquistador Francisco Vásquez de Coronado in three-quarter view, wearing a plumed helmet and period armor, holding a scroll or map, set against the outlined silhouette of the state of Oklahoma. The arced legend CORONADO IN OKLAHOMA appears at the top, the commemorative dates 1541–1991 at the bottom, and the engraver's initials SC appear in the lower right field.
