| Obverse description | Draped bust of Artemis facing right, depicted with flowing wavy hair loosely tied and adorned with a drop earring, rendered in the fine late Classical style. The hair is arranged in naturalistic undulating locks swept back from the face, with curling tendrils escaping at the nape. A plain beaded border encircles the field. The portrait is executed with considerable artistic refinement, displaying high relief modeling characteristic of the finest Ephesian die-cutters of the mid-4th century BC. |
