Obverse description The gilded field depicts a panoramic view of Leningrad with the Neva River in the foreground and the cruiser Aurora at right, with recognizable city landmarks including the Peter and Paul Fortress and St. Isaac's Cathedral in relief. Above the cityscape, four orders in relief are displayed in a row — two Orders of Lenin, one Order of the October Revolution, and one Order of the Red Banner — surmounted by the Gold Star medal. The Cyrillic legend arcs along the upper rim, and a laurel and oak wreath enclosing a hammer and sickle occupies the lower exergue.
