| Obverse description | Griffin seated to left in archaic style, with leonine body, prominent folded wings rendered with finely engraved parallel striations, and an open beak facing left. The creature rests its right forepaw upon a small round object, likely an aryballos or vessel. A partial Greek legend appears along the lower exergual area of the field. The design is contained within a shallow incuse square border, characteristic of early Thracian coinage of the late Archaic period. |
