| Obverse description | A sword depicted vertically in the central field, point downward, enclosed within an inner beaded circle. A circular Latin legend runs in the outer annular field between the inner beaded circle and an outer border, reading +IMPVRIAR, referring to the County of Empúries. The flan is irregular, as typical of hammered medieval Catalan coinage. |
