| Obverse description | Crude facing bust of the king, crowned with an open crown visible above the head, depicted in a highly stylized medieval manner typical of 13th-century Hungarian hammered coinage. The face is rendered schematically with punched dots suggesting eyes and simplified facial features in low relief. Flanking the bust on either side are stylized foliate or lily-like ornamental elements extending into the field. The design is enclosed within a plain inner circle, the overall strike being characteristic of irregular hammered production. |
