| Obverse description | Youthful head of Dionysos facing right, crowned with an ivy and grape-leaf wreath rendered in bold, naturalistic relief. The hair falls in thick, layered curls behind the neck and along the temples, characteristic of the Hellenistic artistic tradition prevalent in the Pontic region. The facial features are finely modelled with a smooth brow, almond-shaped eye, and delicately defined lips, conveying the god's idealized, effeminate beauty. The portrait occupies the full field of the flan, with no visible border or legend on the obverse. |

| Reverse description | Eagle standing left with head turned right, perched upon a thunderbolt rendered horizontally across the field, a canonical Bosporan civic type evoking Olympian authority. A monogram appears to the left of the eagle in the field, and a six-pointed star is positioned to the right. The Greek ethnic legend ΠΑΝΤΙΚΑΠΑΙΤΩΝ ('of the Panticapaeans') runs around the reverse field, identifying the civic issuing authority of Panticapaeum. The design is executed in the bold, somewhat summary style typical of Hellenistic bronze coinage from the northern Black Sea region. |
