| Obverse description | Effigy of Sasanian king Peroz I facing right, wearing his second crown type: a mural crown surmounted by a frontal crescent, atop which rests the characteristic korymbos (hair-bundle) set upon another crescent, with a rear merlon finial. The portrait is rendered in the stylised profile typical of early Sasanian silver coinage, with fine engraving delineating the facial features and royal regalia. Inscriptional Pahlavi legends appear in the field flanking the bust. |
