Obverse description A plain cross occupies the center of the coin, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The royal legend PIPINVS REX (King Pepin) is disposed around the circumference in Latin capitals, introduced by a cross pattée. The flan is irregular and the strike uneven, typical of Carolingian hammered coinage, with the lettering partially visible due to flan limitations and wear. The overall design follows the standard Carolingian monetary type established under the reform coinage of the period.

Reverse description The mint name LIMO DICAS, a reference to Limoges (Lemovicas), is arranged in three lines across the field, introduced by a cross pattée. The lettering is bold and angular in Carolingian majuscule style, filling the available flan space. The flan exhibits the characteristic irregular outline and surface porosity of ninth-century Aquitainian hammered silver coinage. The die alignment is variable, consistent with contemporary workshop practice at the Limoges mint.
