Obverse description Frontal enthroned effigy of the crowned emperor, depicted in regal majesty seated upon a throne, holding a scepter in the right hand and an imperial orb in the left. The figure is rendered in a stylized Romanesque manner characteristic of medieval German coinage, framed within a beaded inner circle surrounded by a legend border. The overall composition conveys imperial authority in the hieratic tradition of Ottonian and Staufen-era die engraving.
