Obverse description Facing crowned royal effigy of King Louis I rendered in a crude, stylized manner characteristic of mid-14th century Hungarian hammered coinage. The crowned head occupies the central field, with rudimentary facial features visible in low relief. A circular legend surrounds the effigy, reading + M REGIS LODOVICI (Money of King Louis). The flan is irregular and slightly cupped, consistent with hand-struck medieval silver production.
