| Additional information |
Cabellio — modern Cavaillon in the Rhône valley — was a Cavares settlement that received Latin rights under Roman administration during the late Republic. This obol belongs to a small series of local bronze issues produced during the politically turbulent decades bracketing Caesar's assassination, when civic minting in southern Gaul operated under loose Roman oversight rather than direct imperial control. The series is poorly documented and die studies remain incomplete.
