Obverse description Central field occupied by a large fleur-de-lis, bisected vertically by a plain line dividing the charge. The fleur-de-lis is rendered in a bold, stylized Gothic manner typical of late medieval French feudal coinage. The device is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in Latin reads the ruler's name and title, separated by stops, with a cross pattée as the initial mark.

Reverse description A plain cross extending to the inner beaded circle, dividing the field into four equal quarters, all plain. The cross is boldly struck in the characteristic hammered style of late 15th-century French feudal issues. An inner beaded circle frames the cross, and the surrounding Latin legend identifies the denomination and the lordship of Trevoux, introduced by a cross pattée as the initial mark.
