Obverse description Highly stylized and schematically rendered male head facing right, derived from the laureate head of Apollo as depicted on the prototype obols of Philip II of Macedon. The design is executed in a characteristic Celtic abstract idiom, with the facial features reduced to shallow, curvilinear relief forms. The hair is rendered as a mass of flowing lines to the left of the face, while a prominent pellet and curved element to the upper right likely represent a vestigial earring or hair ornament. No legend present; the flan is irregular and slightly convex.
