Obverse description Central field features a pointed cross fleurdelisée enclosed within a plain inner circle surrounded by a beaded border. A fleur-de-lis ornament occupies the second quarter of the cross, characteristic of Angevin dynastic heraldry. The surrounding legend reads MON REG SICILIE, referencing the coinage authority of the King of Sicily. The overall design is rendered in the typical crude hammered style of 13th-century feudal French billon coinage.
