Reverse description A plain Greek cross with equal arms occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The cross is boldly struck and centrally placed, consistent with Carolingian ecclesiastical coinage conventions. The surrounding legend, reading SCI PETR NOMETA, attributes the issue to the Abbey of Saint Peter at Corbie (Nometum being a Latinized form of the mint name). The overall design reflects the standard reverse type of Carolingian abbey coinage issued under royal authority during the Edict of Pîtres period.
