Obverse description Central field displays a stylized hand or scepter-like figure in high relief, rendered in the crude hammered style typical of early Bohemian coinage. A cross pattée appears in the upper portion of the field, flanked by indistinct letter-like symbols arranged around the periphery. The design is characteristic of Ottonian-influenced Bohemian deniers of the mid-tenth century, with bold but irregular die work. The flan is uneven and slightly irregular in shape, consistent with hand-cut silver planchets of the period.
