The king is shown in draped attire with distinctive Sasanian royal regalia. A circular Inscriptional Pahlavi legend surrounds the effigy within a beaded border, reading the royal titulature of Ardashir I as Mazda-worshipping lord, King of Kings of Iran, whose lineage derives from the gods. |
