Obverse description A crozier facing right occupies the central field, flanked by three crosslets disposed around it. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding legend in Latin reads EPISCOPVS (Bishop), introduced by a cross pattée, with punctuation marks separating the legend elements. The flan is irregular, characteristic of hammered medieval billon coinage.
