Obverse description Head of Hera facing right, wearing a stephane (diadem) decorated with a dotted pattern, rendered in archaic Greek style with carefully delineated facial features. The hair is shown swept back beneath the ornate crown, with a visible earring. The portrait occupies the full field of this small flan, with the characteristic stylised treatment of the eye and lips typical of Elean coinage of the late fifth century BC.
