Obverse description	Youthful head of Messene facing left, rendered in fine archaic-to-early classical style, with flowing wavy hair falling in locks around the neck. The facial features are delicately modeled, with a slightly upturned profile characteristic of Peloponnesian coinage of the fourth century BC. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of small hammered silver denominations of this period.

Reverse description	Upright kantharos (two-handled drinking vessel) depicted in the center of the field with prominent handles rising above the rim. The vessel rests on a thin stem above a wide foot, rendered with careful attention to symmetry. The design is set on an irregular planchet typical of small hammered silver coinage of the Peloponnese in the fourth century BC.
