| Obverse description | Tortoise seen from above in high relief, rendered in a schematic archaic style with a distinctly segmented carapace displaying bold transverse ridges across the central boss. The head protrudes slightly at the top of the flan, and the marginal scales of the shell are suggested by a beaded or granular border. The type is set within the irregular round flan with no surrounding legend or additional devices. |

| Additional information |
Idyma was a minor Carian settlement whose independent coinage output was small and short-lived, likely suppressed as Persian satrapal authority tightened over the region during the late fifth century. The site itself was eventually abandoned, leaving almost no archaeological continuity — which is part of why attributing these fractional silvers took decades of comparative die work against the SNG corpora.
