| Obverse description | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in the archaic style with a large almond-shaped frontal eye characteristic of the Classical Athenian coinage. The goddess wears a crested Attic helmet adorned with elaborate floral and scroll decoration along the bowl. Cheek guards flank the face, and the hair falls in thick, stylized locks beneath the helmet rim. The flan is small and irregular, typical of fractional silver denominations of the period. |
