| Obverse description | Bare head of Artemis in fine archaic-to-classical style, facing right, with elaborately rendered wavy hair tied and bound at the back, a loose strand falling behind the ear. The facial features are delicately modelled with a refined profile, displaying a straight nose and slightly parted lips. The neck is bare, and the hair is adorned with what appears to be a stephane or fillet at the crown. The portrait fills the broad, incuse-rimmed flan characteristic of early Arkadian coinage. |
