Obverse description A kantharos (two-handled drinking cup) depicted facing, with voluted handles extending to either side, rendered in bold relief at the center of the flan. Four pellets are distributed around the vessel in the field — one above, one below to the right, and one to each side — serving as decorative or denominational markers. The letter K appears in the field. The style is characteristic of the archaic-to-early classical Tarentine coinage, with a compact, schematic rendering suited to the small obol denomination.

Reverse description A bucranium (ox skull) depicted facing, with prominent horns curving upward and outward to either side, rendered in strong relief against a plain field. A single pellet is placed above the skull between the horns. A retrograde letter K appears in the lower left field. To the lower left, a small star or astragalos symbol is visible. The design is typical of Tarentine fractional silver coinage of the late fifth to early fourth century BC, conveying civic and religious symbolism associated with sacrificial cattle.
