Cilicia in the fourth century BC was a patchwork of semi-autonomous cities, dynasts, and Persian satrapal authority, and small silver fractions like this obol circulated across that fractured administrative zone without needing a clearly identifiable civic origin. The inability to assign this piece to a specific mint — despite three catalog references — reflects genuine scholarly disagreement rather than a lack of study.
Göktürk's corpus remains the most granular treatment of this peripheral coinage, and the overlap with SNG Levante 255 has not resolved the attribution question.
